A thousand thoughts are loose
In my mind’s cage,
A hundred thousand fancies
Riding without reins
On a rough terrain ;
How long
I wonder
Will the fences hold ?
How long the crumbling walls
Withstand this giant
With anguish torn ?
Not long
I am afraid ,
Unless my Angel’s smile
Unlocks the gates
And let the torrents flow .
